Internet Phone Service for Cell Phones – Voip.com Mobile Line 2

More and more, people are opting out of using home telephone service – choosing to have only a cell phone for voice communication. Using a cell phone as one's "one and only" phone service is perfect for many folks – unless they have a business on the side or want to make international calls. In this case, a second phone is required (for a business), and international calling rates are extremely expensive using mobile phone services.

Finally – there is a solution! Internet phone service provider Voip.com has now perfected a new voip service designed specifically for mobile phone users. Called "Mobile Line 2", this service is essentially internet phone service for cell phones!

Requirements for Mobile Line 2

To use Mobile Line 2, subscribers must currently have a cell phone data plan, and must be using a Blackberry (O/S 4.0 or higher), a Windows smartphone (with Pocket PC 5.0 or higher), or a java-based phone. When you subscribe to the service, a small application is downloaded and installed on the cell phone. This application enables the phone for a second phone number (area code of your choice) which is provided via Voip.com. Along with the second phone number, you get a separate voicemail box.

Reasons to use Cell Phone Voip

So why would anyone want a second phone number on their cell phone? For starters, Voip.com's international long distance rates are among the cheapest in the industry. With rates starting as low as 1.2 cents per minute, many callers save up to 99% off of mobile international calling rates. If you make any international calls at all, you can save a ton of money by adding Mobile Line 2 to your cell phone.

Another great reason to add a second number to your cell phone is that it's a great way to keep two separate identities while using only one device. For business owners, a second number on the cell phone is much more professional. For people who want to separate their private life from work, a second phone number is the ideal choice.

The Mobile Line 2 number can be from any area code you wish, so adding this service could greatly benefit someone with friends and relatives in two separate locations. Callers won't have to make a long distance call to keep in touch.

How it Works

Once you've installed Mobile Line 2 you'll see an option on your phone that allows you to switch between phone numbers when making calls. When receiving calls, you'll also see which line the call is coming in on. It's just as easy to check voice mails from both phone numbers.

How Much Does it Cost?

There are two Mobile Line 2 plans currently offered by Voip.com. For occasional users, a 200 minute per month plan is available for $9.95/month. This includes any calls within the USA, Canada and Puerto Rico. For "power users", an unlimited plan is available for $24.95/month.
