Voip.com - An Internet Phone Service Provider Worth Considering!

I'm always on the lookout for the best VoIP providers, and I'm happy to say I've found another one! VoIP.com offers two great unlimited residential VoIP plans, and judging from user reviews, the service is great.

VoIP.com's most popular unlimited long distance plan is their Annual service. This is actually prepaid VoIP service, and it makes the cost of free long distance and local calling as cheap as you can get. For only $199 a year (paid up front) you get a whole year's worth of residential phone service with unlimited free long distance calls within the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico. This works out to less than $17 a month for total and complete phone service. You will never see another phone bill during the year unless you make international calls (which are super cheap, by the way).

Another popular VoIP plan from VoIP.com is their monthly unlimited internet phone service plan. This is more of a traditional VoIP plan, in that you pay your phone bill every month. VoIP.com's unlimited monthly plan is super cheap at only $19.95 a month.

VoIP.com offers more features than any other VoIP provider, and even provides subscribers with a free softphone. Most VoIP providers charge extra for the use of a softphone, but VoIP.com makes this a part of the package. This makes it very convenient for subscribers to take their internet phone service with them when they travel. The softphone is a piece of software that installs on your PC or laptop. It is tied into your VoIP.com residential service account and allows you to make and receive calls from your laptop wherever you may travel. Very handy for business travelers, vacationers and snowbirds who normally have 2-3 homes, depending on the season.

VoIP.com is a newcomer to the VoIP industry, but they've been around for over a year now and this company is really starting to gain a presence in the telecommunications business! VoIP.com's customer base is growing every day as more and more people make the switch from expensive land line service to cheap high quality internet phone service.

VoIP.com is unique in that they have their own in-house development staff. This allows them to develop some really unique and cutting-edge products and services. They are beta testing a really cool website-based calling service now called "Make a Call". After signing up for an account and funding it with some money, you can make calls from your home phone to any phone in the world by logging on and calling through the website. This service bridges your phone through to another phone via the internet. It allows you to make a long distance (even international calls) call using VoIP.com's services and ultra-cheap long distance rates. Make a call is free to try during the beta test phase. Just go to
voip.com and click the Make a Call button on top of the page to try out this service by making a free long distance call.

Packet8 Tango VTA464 Adds Video To VoIP Calls

One of the best things about Packet8 is that this VoIP company makes all their own hardware. You won't find Packet 8 internet phone service following in others footsteps - they are always coming up with something new and innovative in the world of VoIP.

Packet8 just announced a cool new interactive video device called Tango. It works in conjunction with your regular packet8 internet phone service and your existing phone. Tango is a combination 5" LCD screen with a built in video camera. It is designed to bring video to your VoIP calls. Tango is a Video Terminal Adapter (VTA), that takes the place of the traditional Analog Terminal Device (ATA) that is used with nearly all VoIP service providers. The ATA is the little box that makes VoIP work!

Tango is super easy to install and use. You connect one cable to your broadband router or modem and the other cable to a telephone. As soon as you make your connections and activate your Packet8 service, you're up and running!

I've used Packet8 internet phone service for over two years now, and am 110% satisfied with it. For $19.99 a month, you get unlimited local and long distance calling within the US and Canada and a ton of free features that make your life a lot easier! There is no extra charge to use Tango to add video to your Packet8 calls - you can video-phone on an unlimited basis too!

Packet8 still offers their regular videophone, which is really cool. They are still offering a one month free deal too (for new subscribers).

If you are considering switching over to low-cost, high-quality internet phone service I highly recommend Packet8.
